The chamber ensemble of brass is made up of trumpets, horns, trombones, euphoniums and tubas. This group is hand picked by directors to expand upon their previous knowledge of brass music and chamber works. Brass choir performs at solo and ensemble contest, the kaliedoscope concert and the chamber ensemble concert.
Woodwind choir consists of flutes, clarinets, saxophones, oboe and bassoon players. This group is hand picked by directors to expand upon their previous knowledge of woodwind music and chamber works. Jazz combo is an after-school ensemble consisting of traditional and non-traditional jazz instruments.This group works on reading lead sheets and chord changes to develop the players improvisational skills in a jazz setting. This ensemble exsist based on student interest.
Percussion Ensemble - The RHS Percussion Ensemble is open to all students interested in learning more about the percussive arts. The ensemble meets twice per week and performs at numerous concerts and events through the winter and spring. The full schedule can be found on the calendars page
Ragtime Xylophone - The RHS Ragtime Xylophone Ensemble is a prestigous group of four or five RHS percussionists performing the delightful ragtime music of the early 20th century, as popularized by George Hamilton Green. This ensemble performs at several concerts per year and features 1-2 students as xylophone soloists with the rest performing as a marimba quartet.
