Roosevelt high school has four performing concert bands. Descriptions of each group are listed below.

Symphonic Band -

The symphonic band is the top performing group within the school. Students audition in mid-May for the following academic year. Students are expected to perform at the highest levels through challenging music, intermediate music theory, music history and advanced vocabulary terms. The symphonic band performs at the winter concert, large ensemble contest, kaleidoscope and spring concert.

Concert Band -

Concert band is the second highest auditioned group at RHS. Auditions take place mid-May for the following academic year. Students are expected to perform at a high level through difficult music, basic-intermediate music theory, history and vocabulary terms. The concert band performs at the winter concert, large ensemble contest, kaleidoscope and spring concerts.

Varsity Band - 

Students who are in grades 10-12 can participate in the varsity band. This group is unauditioned and students will continue to learn the basics of music theory and music vocabulary terms. Varsity band performs at the winter concert, kaleidoscope and spring concert.

Freshman Band -

All incoming freshman are placed within this ensemble. Students will learn the basics of music theory, all 12 major scales, introductory music vocabulary and pieces of music they will perform at the winter concert, kaleidoscope and spring concert.
